THE BACKGROUND
A large manufacturer was developing models for their customers in a siloed way. Each team created their own models, infrastructure, data plumbing, etc. to achieve their local goal of building a product that solved a challenge their customers were facing. It became clear that many teams across the company were independently developing similar tools and skill sets without any sharing of information.
